It is back... for now...

So maybe this is the resurrection of the ol blog or maybe its just a blip.... I just spent the last 30-45 minutes re-reading my old blog posts on here and on my old blog over here .  I am not sure I was in the greatest of moods sometimes when I wrote those.  However, it did make me laugh and cry and sniffle some of the time....

Quick round up of the last 5 years?  Sure:  I left tv, went to Kent State University, then went to Ohio University for grad school, got a 2 year internship at a school district as an SLP.  Throw in a marriage and 3 moves, buying a house, and changing of a car (went from a silver KIA to a black KIA, I am dangerous) and that is my last 5 years in a nut shell...

Where will this blog go from here?  Well maybe it will be humorous?  Maybe it will just be me venting... I can promise that there is not as much bad energy in me as there was when I lived in NY.  I hope my sarcasm and humor has carried over but no promises going forward...

Hope all is well out there in the Internets!

Just another Wednesday

So I made it through another quarter, and all I got to show for it is ... well not much a less than stellar bank account and probably a gray hair or too.

So tomorrow is Opening Day, and yes it should be a holiday.  If anyone says no to this, then well they have priorities.  But with gas hitting 30 bucks a gallon and another war, then why not have one day a year where its just about baseball.
Talking about the Reds, I think they will win 89 games, and make the playoffs.

Here is a game for people who enjoy killing everyone in the world.  Pick your disease and watch it kill every one.  Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, and Morgan Freeman are optional.

Ill be moving soon (well in a few months) to Dayton, Ohio.  Well I will at least get to see Wright Patterson Air Force Base, alot.

No idea what this is, but its awesome.

A half hearted effort... My bad, try it again later

Holy Rusty Metal Batman.... Winning edition

Yeah so the new blog spot is looking like the old one, just with less money.  Its hard trying to keep up a blog, do grad school, and try to sleep... so here I am back at it again - on a Friday night.

So this week I thought it would be a great idea to watch the two Burton Batman movies followed by the Joel Schumacher Bat films.... Well Michael Keaton as Batman was not bad.  The first two films were good not great.  But what the holy hell happened to the Schumacher films?  Batnipple, Batass, Batthong, Batdong.... It was like Schumacher was upset he got picked to direct the first one and thought "Hey if its bad I wont have to do another one, bring me more glow paint.."  I blame whoever green lighted those damn films...

Tough news today out of Japan.  Major Earthquake... 8.9, if you don't know what that means remember the scene in the movie earthquake?, yeah that's close enough.  But in serious news Japan may have a nuclear melt down. Okay, so maybe Nuclear Power is not completely safe.

Since the world is collapsing and there is nothing we can do about it at least we can be Batman.  The new Arkham City game launches in October.  No word yet if people will line up at midnight for a Fing video game.

If you are not checking the PoP! guys and gals out  yet what the holy hell are you waiting for?

Who would you rather be Charlie Sheen or Mike Tyson? Well at least Charlie Sheen is a Reds fan.....

So the rich Billionaires and the Millionaires couldn't figure out how to separate their monies... I might miss the Bengals losing this season, then again I thought the NFL went on strike last year - or at least I thought so based on the Bengals ability to run a route.

And lastly... Governor Kasich (Ohio) you suck... totally you suck suck suck suck suck.  2 reasons why Gov Kasich is a useless governor, 1: Hey that streetcar you were planning on, yeah that's not going to happen.  Hey so a city that is slowly dying is trying to not, you know die, and hey no funding.  No Big deal.  Reason number 2: Kasich hates the teacher's union, oh he said that before he was elected?  So its not surprise that Senate Bill 5 is happening.  While yes Merit Pay is a great idea, the problem is that some teachers who, you know teach in lower SES areas, have a harder time having students make the grade.  While teachers in High SES don't have to try as hard.  But no worries its not like dissolving the teacher's union or anything will have a negative effect on class rooms.  Its a good thing No Child Left Behind was always set to do good, and people love this law, because so many schools are now passing , and people want the law to continue.  Or not.  You know whatever....

Its always the quiet ones...

So let me say how much I love stumble.  If you dont know, then obviously you have never wasted 8 hours doing nothing but clicking a button, and Im not talking about the buttons linking to adult orientated web sites, wink wink.  Anywho, stumble gave me a random fact generator.  How factual these items are, I am not sure.  But hey I learned this "Chimpanzees are excellent tool makers and have been documented to make very primitive spears to kill bushbabies hiding in the trees during the night."  I am not sure  what a bushbaby is, but I am not messing around with a chimpanzee any time soon.

Gripe time:  Network TV sucks.  Well most of it sucks.  NBC what have you done for me lately?  The cape?  and now this load of  crap?  Im not against Wonder Woman.  Hell, I am a nerd and love for more nerdyness to come to the forefront of America's viewing habits.  However, NBC has not had a good track record of remakes of tv shows, especially the ones catering to a niche audience of Nerds: Bionic Woman and Knight Rider.  Speaking of craptacular remakes: CBS wants to remake The Wild Wild West, now the link is old, by a few months, but who knows CBS may do it.  Who needs new programming?  NBC?  Nope they are redoing, or supposedly redoing The Munsters.  No new programming at all?

So someone is upset that a movie, again a fictional representation of a historical figure, portrayed someone wrong?  Oh the movie? The Kings Speech. Yea evidently people are upset that the kind ol king didnt stammer as much as he did in the movie, well its a good thing no one on the internet is claiming King George was Hitler's Brother.  Oh for crying out loud.  Seriously internet?

Today's edition of  the government is out to get us.  So they released a new dietary guidelines today.  In it they tell Americans to eat less crappy foods, Salt, sugars, etc, and drink water.  Well some people on a certain side of the aisle say they didnt go far enough.  They are upset because it says "eat less."  Now I am sure someone will get upset that it went too far.  You know what?  Americans are fat.  Not PHAT.  Maybe in the next dietary guidelines it should say this "Eat whatever the hell you want, but hey you'll die."  But on a serious note if the supple and demand for Hostess cupcakes falls, that means the price goes down too right?

So the BBC is reporting the world's oldest woman has just died.  Of course the official records say she was 114, but she claimed 115.  Who cares.  Look I want to live to be a damn Immortal, like Connor McCloud.  But if I look like that lady, someone put me down.  Like a race horse.  But she does say she lived so long because Jesus Loves Her.

Can an Animal predict the weather? No.  The answer to this question is no.  An animal who comes out of a hole and looks at his shaddow can not, and never will predict the weather....

I am still waiting for the dreaded Ice Storm to hit

Blogging 2.0

So it has been a little less than 2 years since I blogged last.  Back then I was living it up in upstate New York doing the Radio and TV thing.  If you dont believe me check out my old diggs. Since then I have moved to blogger.com and got rid of the old wordpress.com website.  Between then and now I have moved back to Ohio and am in the middle of a grad program for Speech Language Pathology.  Yes I have grown up, sort of.

Shameless plugs for others doing good stuff.  My favorite web hang out has to be PoP! as they talk about everything pop like, music, comics, movies, comics, adult themed material, and oh yeah comics.  When you get there tell em I sent ya, I need some sweet perks.  If you want to read about a red blooded American Kid growing up and teaching Koreans, and his struggles, read this guys stuff.  He is good at the wordyness but his pictures are even better.  And also check out my girl C-dawg here.  Shes got some awesome stuff going on at her site as well...

And stay out of this here library... So lady gets mad at the library and she drops ketchup, maple syrup, and other condiments in the book drop.  She was elderly so maybe she was confused and which pull up window she was at.

I am in the wrong field.  Little Girl bakes a cake and it rakes it 10 K.  I am doing the wedding cake thing and I dont like paying 200 bucks.

The last thing I remember is being in a car crash.  The next thing I know I am in this car trunk, wheres my ear.

What the hell is going on in Egypt.  First the peaceful protests, then they wernt peaceful, then it was the police lighting shit on fire and blaming the protesters.  Then they beat up reporters, blocked the media and internet and now they introduce a curfew.

Whats the quickest way to sell out a grocery store?  Warn them of a  massive snow storm, that weather.com predicts will affect 100 million people.... in other news, its winter.

In the pop culture realm, they have casted the new Superman. Goes to the guy who played in the HBO show Tudors.  The only reason I am excited for this movie is because Chris Nolan is playing a part in the development.  When you have Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Inception, and Memento on your resume you get an automatic look.  No word yet if this guy will take up horse back riding.

In the other Nolanverse, The Dark Knight Returns star, Christian Bale, has said "He is open to doing a fourth batman film."  Well this is great news for fans of the Nolan Batman, but bad news for fans of Kevin Conroy doing a Batman voice, as seen at C2E2. (Courtesy of the boys over at PoP.)

Speaking of C2E2, its the mid-west's Mecca of awesome.  Check out their site.  Make plans to go to Chicago, see things you never thought you would see ever again...

Well thats about it for now.  Its been almost 2 years since my last post so I am going to attempt to not take so damn long till my next one.  Peace, Hope, and all that Jazz...
